Taking the Stitch Challenge

Today was spent preparing to leave Mon for SC. We mailed a late Christmas gift, sent home crafting goodies, lots of yarn (I couldn't resist at $0.50/ea plus 25% off!! I do alot of knitting of skinny scarves for Back to School, an organization in Phoenix that helps dress underpriviledged kids. I love doing it and they go so fast!! I buy bright colors and pink to make those little girls happy. Planning to start Sharon B stitch challenge for 2009, check it out at http://www.pintangle.com/journal/ . I think it will help me either brush up my skills or have new ideas for me, either will be great. Hope everyone has a Happy New Year!!

Apron Fun

I love the revival of aprons. I made the pink and white one at the right a couple months ago. It was a pattern that I found in a bunch of papers I was cleaning out of the sewing room. I think it was dated 1950. I made some changes ie: added to the waist, put pockets on, and of course the lace. I sent it off to Stampington to see if they will publish it in their new mag on aprons or in one of their other mags. It has not been returned to me so........ Will let you know if I find out anything.

Merry Christmas!!

It has been a busy day, meeting step-son and his wife for munchies and conversation, then off to oldest dds to wrap gifts. I wrapped for hours but it is done and the babies will be happy tomorrow!!
This is a Victorian Christmas stocking made for a swap on the CrazyQuilt for Newbies list I enjoy. It will live in Colorado w/Janet now. The back of it is black velvet. Turned out pretty well.
To everyone Happy Holidays!!
Happy Birthday Jesus!!

Ice and Snow

Another lousy weather day in Ohio, I want to be where it is warm. I hate the ice. I miss playing with my fabrics so I went to JoAnn and used my coupons to pick up some fun things so I could play. I am using some ideas from the book Creating w/Fabric. Will post pictures when I have some completed.

Where to Begin??

This is the beginning of what a hope will be a fun new process for me. My first blog post. I am in Ohio for Christmas, spending time with my three daughters, mom, and 6 grandchildren. Boy am I worn out, those 3-4 yos are tough on an old lady!! I got to see my best friend and have Christmas w/her. She is the best to exchange gifts w/ a beautiful purse, purse handles, beautiful pink butterflies, a wonderful craft book: Creating w/Fabrics. Can't wait to get home to start trying these ideas out. Tomorrow is the last day of my Christmas shopping!!! Yeah! Come back soon.
