My work

Wanted to share some of the things I have been working on. The heart is for a swap on one of the internet groups I am one. Green for St Patrick's Day. This is a before and after shot. I am not finished w/it I want to add some buttons, need to dig out some green ones. Also here are the 2 small quilts I am donating to our AZ Quilt Guild small auction next month: The blue one has a heart on it that I received in a swap many years ago and is Harry Potter themed. I finished it into a small quilt and it turned out pretty cute. The other quilt was just one of those things that fell together when I was away for Christmas w/very little w/me in the way of supplies, so I made do. It turned out fun, don't ya think?

Wgt lose and Hiking

Time has really flown lately with friends in from Ohio to keep me busy, hiking at White Tanks on Fri was fun and worth the exercise as I hit the 30# weight lose mark!! I have made 2 Dotee dolls, and cut out the Fisherman doll tonight. Will be at the sewing machine in the morning I am sure.

Flowers are just beginning to bloom in the desert. I will have to get out there in another couple weeks to see how they look then! Doll pictures tomorrow.

Apron Ribbon embroidery and more

I guess you can see I have been busy. The ribbon above is velvet and these pieces will be used in a motif swap that I am in. I have also made knitted flowers (pictures coming) and yo-yos from satin brocade w/buttons in the middle. I can't wait to see what I get back!! The apron at left I made in a class last week and I love it. Two pansy prints (do I love pansies???) and then the bias is a stripe, I wouldn't have done this in a million years but the girls at the quilt shop thought it was great and I did too once I got it together. These will make great Christmas and birthday gifts so I am thinking ahead!! Finally a call last night from darling daughter who is lost in Fort Leonard MO. She is doing well, but doesn't graduate until end of July. Sounds so far away!! Weight is down 28#!!!! Just one month so far.

Busy

Things have been busy here!! Like everywhere else. The grandpuppy flew in on Tues night. He is doing well here and settling in. Braxton is his name, he is chuahua (?) mix and all of 6#. and outweighed by the cats by at least 10#!!! Who should be ruling my roost!I am glad but my cats are so angry!! I went to sewing class on Thurs night and made the cutest apron w/pansy fabric. Pictures when I get the last binding on!! I also spent time Sat afternoon w/good friends Jane and Jean (yes it is confusing!!) and we made a Dinky Doll. Pictures tomorrow!! She is really sweet and I worked w/different fabric, using craft velour, never worked with it before. I loved it. Darling baby girl is in boot camp so no word from her since Thurs PM, not expecting it for several weeks but a mom can hope. Weight loss is 26#. Clothes and shoes are getting too big already!!
