Let There be Fairies!!

There has been alot of talk about fantasy landscape on the CQ4N list and it has inspired me to give it a try. At this point I have a very limited stash here so working on this was not easy. I am thinking trees, water, fairies..... I am not thrilled with the fabrics I used but as I said did the best I could with what I have. I am not sure where the stitching will lead but time will tell. I used batiks except for the sky which is blue silk, due to the small amounts of solid blue I had to piece the sky, not happy about that. I can't wait to work on this. DD has plans for painting the guest (our room at this time LOL) room on Sat, not much stitching will get done but I can work when the paint is drying!!

  1. I love your block! Especially as it is done in batik fabrics, my favorite fabrics! I would love to work on your block if you want to send it out to me. Send me an email at stitchduchess2@yahoo.com and let me know.

  2. Well Miss K, I like your block. I especially like the pieced sky. I used batiks in mine also, they are the best fabrics (I think) for landscapes. Good luck!

  3. I love batiks as well, and I personally think that's one GORGEOUS block. As a total novice at CQ, I'm very, very impressed. Please keep me in the loop for your progress -- you're joining the swap? I'm still learning how to piece mine! LOL.

Thanks for the super nice comment on my blog too -- I just had to jump over and see yours!

Your landscape block looks wonderful. I think the fabrics are a great choice. Kudos to you on the curves. I just never can get those darn things to work for me.
