Meet Miss Rosy

Here is the y0-yo bunny that I have been working on. She turned out so cute, all vintage fabrics, except the bunny print (repro) for her paws/ears. She even has vintage button eyes. I have gotten this banner to the "almost finished" stage too. It is navy planet fabric w/orange cotton letters, to spell out his name when done. It will be connecte w/orange rick rack so it can hang on his bedroom wall. This is for oldest dgs and says Trent. Hope he likes it. I am keeping my hands busy and have been out on several errands, so I am picking up finally. I am so impatient.

Cleaning

Sounds boring huh?? Not really since I was going through my thread stash. I felt sure that I could get more in each container if I was neater about how they were put away.... makes sense right? Sure enough. Now my big sewing bag is next, then I am going to be really cool and put them in containers w/like fibers! Gotta love it when you have enough time on your hands to do silly time wasting things like this!!

Meet the girls: the fake one was a gift from my daughter who thought I was missing my kitties while in the hospital, Miss Sophie is beside her. They were all three sleeping in a row together, but when I went for the camera Max had to get up and see what I was doing! Never fall asleep in the hospital w/a cat like this on your chest, it will scare the crap out of you, ask how I know!! I did get a pink shawl off the knitting needles today when I cleaned the knitting basket out, now if I could just find those darn needles to sew in my yarn tails.

God Bless America

What a wonderful day to be an American!!! My prayers are with the new president and his family. I have waited for many years for a man to come along that would touch me the way that I was touched as a child by John F Kennedy and today he is in Washington DC.
An emotional day (sorry back to the personal) at home w/DD leaving to go home to SC. I miss her so much and she will leave Feb 5, 09 for the military. Please pray that she will do well in boot camp and schooling. She is my baby and this is a tough one for me, being 5 days post op does not help my emotional state. Total loss of wgt. 10#. Tomorrow I want to start walking to get some exercise. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

I am home

Home from the hospital since yesterday and not doing too bad. I have some discomfort and am adjusting to eating very little. I have lost my first 5# so onward from here. I have started cutting yo-yos for a bunny, the fabric is vintage 30, 40s prints. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Will post pictures when it is done. Keeping me busy anyway. I was excited that the vintage fabric was in large enough pieces to use.

New Year New Me

Tomorrow will be the beginning of big changes for me, I am having bariatric bypass surgery. I am nervous and excited. Giving up food at my age is a rough thing but I have to loose some weight to get healthy. I want to live long enough to see my precious grandchildren grow up. I have kept busy cleaning the house and moving furniture w/youngest DD's help. I just had my wicker body form (manaquin) arrive from Ohio. Have not had time to play w/her yet, she is a beauty and cost me less then $40 w/shipping!!! Yes!! Can't wait to play with her when I am feeling better. Will be back when feeling up to it.

Hit the Jackpot

Today I had time by myself to waste, what a change that was. I found a decorating fabric store that had a basket of fabric pieces for $0.50 each!! Fairly large pieces and I got a dozen I liked. Then across the street I went into a Needlers Nest (?) that had beautiful yarn, lovely threads etc. I got some gorgeous recycled silk yarn !! I can't wait to get home to start a shawl out of it for me. My resolution for the new year is to get into the UFO drawer and finish some of the projects I started and didn't complete. I have a Halloween witch that needs her head, 2 bears to put together, some purses to line and sew. That should keep me busy for a couple weeks. Missing my home and kitties.
Adrial is no better today, continue good thoughts his way, thanks. Have a great weekend.

2009 is here

Today 1 yo grandson Adrial was hospitalized w/dehydration. Please remember him in your prayers. Youngest daughter, Lacy has been sworn in to National Guard. She leaves for bootcamp Feb5. That will be a big adjustment for both of us. I have done some sewing for Lacy while we have been here. Feels good to have a sewing machine in hand again! Sewed pillows and curtains for her house. She has been here since July but hasn't had much time to decorate. We are covering windows!!!
