Scarve Making~ Is winter far behind???

It has been a busy week. I got out this pattern to knit potato chip scarves and made up a couple. I know it is the wrong time of year but they are light weight & fun to make. They are  so much more fun to see when they are done. The pink one is for me, can't wait to wear it. I am not sure what I am going to do with the other one. Maybe a gift for one of the  DD s!!
I have added a couple of updated pictures of the cuffs that I have been working on. I used hook and eye and snaps to finish the snow one and the pink lace one. Nothing fancy on them, just what works. I did get some work done on the lady that I applied to another cuff and had no idea what to do with. I like how she has turned out. She is finished except to add a closure to the back. A black lace cuff is next on my list of to dos.
Another idea in the works is a tank top made from crocheted pieces. I found in my pile a beautiful collar which I think will make this whole process easier. I plan to tea dye the main part of the tank so that the pieces are more cohesive when done. Last is an art quilt that I am throwing together. Another creative week here.
Hope you have a terrific weekend. Blessings.

New Toy!

The new toy is here! This is a thread zapper as seen on Craft Gossip and Allie's blog. Have not had a chance to try it yet. It was purchase on line from SOVA and arrived in two days from NM, I am impressed. The tip that you see in the second picture gets hot (battery inside) and burns thread, edge of ribbon etc to stop fraying. I think it will be used inplace of Fray Check. I do love my toys!!

Here is the finished pink wrist warmers. I added a cream dot or flower and laced cream yarn through to give them alittle more definition. They are so soft and warm! Love them!!
The beginning of the next set of wrist warmers in cream!!
Valentine's Day will be here soon and I am making hearts from a red wool blazer from the thrift store. I plan to hang the largest one at the top with the smaller hearts hanging down from it. Maybe on the front door.  The plain hearts need alittle blinge or lace or something...........mmmmmmmmmmmm alittle too boring right now. So off to make them and me happy ! I should be able to get them hung just in time to take them down next week! Always alittle slow here!

Have a great weekend my friends!!!!! Hoping for NO snow for any of us!!!

Recycle, knitting, and more

Recylcing was on my mind today when I was in the sewing room! I have had this little ham salad can sitting there staring at me, wanting to be something besides empty! I took a scrap of fabrci and wrapped it. Then rick rack for covering the edges. I cut cardstock to fit the top, covered it with scrap minkee fabric and stuffed it with polyfil! No cost and using up my scraps and now I have a pincushion and small storage container!! I had to add a couple of crochet motifs that I cut out from a lace band that was in the drawer!

I found this lovely lace at the GoodWill on Thurs. It was attached to a boring navy jacket. Now that it has been removed, it can be cut into smaller pieces. It is a cream or light gold color and will be great on CQ.
Next up the wrist warmers that I started last night. Not very exciting looking I agree. They are my favorite color, warm, comfy, and EASY!! Who doesn't love easy?? I plan to add some cream yarn to kind of jazz them up when I have the other one done!! Made from left over yarn, so no current cost!! Might have to make more!I
Another flower made from the left overs from the minkee throw. Don't ya love the color?? I have green velvet leaves that I put with it. Another freebie project for the day!!
Last but not least is my sewing buddy! For some reason he decided to nap on this pillow while I played at the table. He is DD's but has been in our care for the majority of the past year. It will really be tough to move out and leave him behind in a few months. Can't remember being without a pet in many years.

Have a fun, creative, and Blessed week!!!!
