New Fabrics!!

I am a winner! I won these beautiful hand dyed fabrics over at Margie's. Aren't they delicious looking? I can't wait to play with them but so far I have not had time. I thought I would share a picture of my family: My Mom and the darling grandchildren!! Hard to believe the oldest just turned 13 and the baby will be 4 next month!!

Yes I know that Easter is over but I never had a chance to share with you my Easter wreath. I think it turned out pretty well. I love the color which is more pink than it looks in this picture!!

The dishes below are my bargain I picked up while on my mini vacation. They were at the Penney's outlet: service for 12 plus serving pieces for under $50!! They were just what I had been looking for and the price was right! I couldn't believe my luck!
Have a great week! Blessings!!

Mail Fun and Lots of PINK!!

The mail and UPS has been such sweet fun this week!! I have always wanted twine in pink and white and finally broke down and got a roll!! The picture is not perfect but it is such a sweet sweet color, can't wait to use it!!
Then a box arrived from JoAnn for our Feb swap on the Cottage yahoo group. Remember the pink chenille hearts I made for her. I took a picture of all the goodies she sent me!! WOW!! Thanks JoAnn for being so generous, love all of it.

A trip to Micheal's came up with lots of spring (pink) colored things. I got a couple St Patrick's Day things to work with the two glass pieces from Saver's that I picked up on Tues (Senior Day!! LOL)
The rest was all spring/pink things as you can see. I even found spring colored socks, that couldn't be beat at 50 cents a pair!! Love the cute bird and the magnets etc. I got some other great things but will wait for another day to share them. I am sneaking them in slowly so no one will figure out I went on a shopping spree!!

Blessings!!!

Fun Flowers

While I was blog surfing (sounds so energetic doesn't it??) I happen on Lilla's blog and she was making these adorable flowers. Well you guessed it I had to run into my studio (LOL) and grab what was needed and make some. Poor hubby suffered as it was supper time yesterday when I began this silliness. I think they turned out cute. I experimented with fabrics and tulles and had a great time. Three circles of tulle topped with a velvet (or minkee as I used a couple times) 5 leafed flower cut out, topped with another circle of tulle and some flower centers were put through all the layers. Then the layers of tulle were run through the candle, just the edges mind you and ta da a cute flower. Gotta love and easy and cute craft!!!

Today some goodies from ebay showed up in the mail. More fun!! I got these 4 changes purses. The beaded one is beatiful, not what I really wanted, I was after the other three!!  It isn't easy to see in the picture but the top one has a gorgeous plastic (?) top on it. I also got he gold trim, buttons and adorable glass bottles. Gotta love the bottles don't ya??
In the buttons are glass clear, PINK, and brown ones. Gorgeous and a perfect addition to CQ blocks.
Last but not least in the mail, a package from Emilie in France (yes France!!!!) I never in my life got anything from France before but I won her blog give away!! Pinks and grays was the one I choose, imagine that. Cut hand mitsm pink and white trim, a pink crocheted rose, a pink scarf and pink beads plus the lush gray fabric. I am so thrilled. Thank you sweet Emille!! You can catch her blog at The French Frog!!

Such a wonderful way to end an absolutely lousy day!! Fighting with insurance, feeling like everytime you get back up someone comes along to know you down again!!
Hoping your week is creative and fun!!

CQ Lesson Beading

I have been working like a little bee trying to complete Lesson 7 which is beading, one of my least favorite things to do. I maybe crazy but I think it is turning out pretty well. This first picture is a partial shot of my pincushion. I do not have the seam finished above the butterfly. Still a work in progress that I have ideas for.The second picture is the needlebook case with some beading added. It will still some SRE added to the right hand side that I cut off. Then we have the tin topper, I added pearls and the butterfly. It may get more this evening. A rose will go in the middle yet too.
Here are two pictures of Vickie's block. The top one is the whole block the second is a close up of the work I did. Below is my naked Season to Season block for CQ4N. I have to embellish half of it before I mail it on to Lesa for her to finish the other half and return it to me. This is the 4th and final block in the 4 seasons. Can't wait to get started on it.

Finally some goodies I picked up at JoAnn's. Bargains!! All of the trims were 25 and 50 cents a yard. The gorgeous glitter , more of a green then it shows here wa 50 cents. Love it!!!

Best of all these CQ classes have taught me to not be so uncomfortable with beading. I sat and beaded the other night and didn't want to stop to go to bed!!! How shocking!!

Hope you all had a great Mother's Day!! I got a card and flowers!! Also bought myself some gifts, new bathing suit and some new clothes, amazing the ones I have are becoming too big again. Can't beat that!!

Have a creative week.

Spring Sunday!

Today I have lots of pictures for you.The two pictures here and the Valentine below were picked up at the flea market. Not cheap but I couldn't pass them up!! Aren't they too sweet??
The chains above right I got at Micheal's on clearance. I have been wanting to try some of the necklaces seen on many of the blogs and Craft Gossip where they take lace/or flowers and make a necklace out of it with chain to hold it together. We will see how successful i am at this! Again the mailman surprised me with the cute cards from Shari to use with our upcoming move! They are great Shari, THANKS~ The next pictures are more fun from Micheals!! The manniquin  was 50% off and could I resist pink, not a chance! Should look perfect in the new sewing room or somewhere else....The oink chicks I bought some last year and fell in love with them, had to have more this year too. Aren't they just the best? Then there are the beautiful rose colored bottles and rose garland, Micheals at 50% off. Sweet trimmings for the new home, maybe on top of the kitchen cabinets, they are dark so anything that will brighten them up will make me happy. The Shamrock windchime is a gift for DD #1, who's birthday falls on, yep you are right: St Patrick's Day!! I love the way this is made and it is glass so there is extra sparkle. Another half price goodie, hoping she will love it too. This is more work on the block for StitchMap. Hoping this ribbon will be the contrast that Shari is looking for here. Covers up my goof and brings some different color to the block.

Last but not least is the most expensive purchase at Micheals. This punch was seen on Dawn's's blog.
She has the most wonderful and creative ideas and this was one of her ideas that I really wanted to work on. I love to make tags and I thought if I could punch my own on paper I picked out it would be some much more fun and turn out better than I expected. Her blog just calms  and inspires me. If you have never stopped over please do so, you will love it.
Have a terrific Sunday dear friends!!

Stitchin and painting Sunday!

Lots to share today! First I added lace to my CQ block for my CQ class on StitchMap. Next will be the stitching!! Then I decided to play with the fabric paints again! Do I love this?? YEP!! I also added a picture of the paints thatI used. I have used both of them each time that I painted on lace. These turned out different than the first set! I adore something new!Pictures of the lace and paints are at the bottom of this post. For some reason blogger thinks I don't know where I want my pictures today. Really I did know but I can't get them where I want them!! LOL
Speaking of new! Check out the bird feeder that I found at Lowes the day I got the angel and bird. It was a mere $7 and I love it. Thinking it will look pretty gorgeous on my patio/deck of the new apartment. Two and a half weeks and we will be moving!! Can't wait!!
Finally I have Ing's block finished. I added the small rose bud lace applique to finish it off. I really hope that she will like this work that I have done. I had to really push myself to get through the block that I put in my own mind about working on her block. I sure hope that I don't feel the same way when the next block arrives at my door. How scarey would that be??

Thinking Spring

Yesterday I went to Lowe's to pick up some moving boxes and what did I find?? A clearance rack!! Yipeee!! I got this darling angel~~ for a dollar. It is alittle hard to see but her left fingers are broken and there was a bird, his wings are broken sitting in her hand. Alittle glue and maybe some greens and she should be good as new. She is pretty good size, maybe 12-24" tall!! Love her! Isn't this bird just the cutest? He was on clearance too~~~$1.99!! Can't beat it and they will look so cute on the porch at the apartment. I need some  windchimes too, so I will be on the lookout for them.I have done some work on the winter block. I still want to add some buttons to it. I am not yet satisfied with the way it looks. I did get some embroidery done on the FFT wool block that I shared on Sat. It is coming along nicely! Just have to keep talking to myself. Yesterday Shari from StitchMap called and we had a block piecing class on the phone, now how many teachers can pull that one off?? I doubt if many can but she sure can do it!! Love ya Shari!! Amazing that I learned even more about piece placement than I thought I knew before!! LOL It is so good to keep leaning every day!I need to get some stitching done! Have a beautiful week!!

Civil War reenactment goodies

As I mentioned yesterday in my post hubby and I went to a reenactment in Aiken SC. Here are the goodies that I said I got while I was there. The candlestick holder on right is so different, I know it will get a pink candle plus something laying below it in the glass, thinking pearls or greens. Below are a pair of too cute shoes that I couldn't pass up. They don't look too exciting in the picture, but they are lace! The shawl shown here was another purchase. It is a tan color with gold threads, it doesn't show well in my pictures either. I am not a good photographer as you can see!! This is a smaller size shawl that just lays nicely over my shoulders and is so pretty in person. The price was right at $15!!

I seem to be having a "thing" for anything to do with wrists right now!! LOL These lace little fingerless gloves just attracted me and I had to have a pair. Lacy and light~~~ sweetness!!!Last but not least in my purchases were glass buttons. I adore buttons and glass ones are the best in my book. The very pale colored ones are really pink so two sets of pink and two set of lavender/purple. I could have spent alot of money in her tent as she had lots of beautiful buttons! These were by far the most exciting finds of the day, probably not the cheapest but who cares!!
